The song behind the Uptown Funk AI videos
Uptown Funk is the lead single from Mark Ronson's album Uptown Special, with Bruno Mars on vocals. It spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy for Record of the Year. Its music video โ Bruno Mars and his crew in sharp suits, strutting down a city street โ is what makes it such an easy template: one front man, a line of dancers behind him, and moves everyone recognises.
The AI CEO dance that started it
On 7 October 2026 the creator @garylau_ai posted an AI-generated clip on X and Bilibili: tech CEOs including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman, dressed in suits, singing and dancing to Uptown Funk on a street. The Bilibili upload says the faces and video were made with AI and that the people shown did not take part. Within hours an uncredited repost on X took off; a community note pointed back to the original creator. Copies followed on YouTube, and Chinese creators made their own versions with other casts.
Why the Uptown Funk AI trend spread
- Everyone already knows the song and the strut, so the joke lands in the first second.
- Serious people doing a silly dance is a reliable meme format, and the suits make it look like a real music video.
- The cast is swappable. As soon as people saw it, they wanted their own boss, team or friends in it โ which is what an Uptown Funk AI video generator is for.
How to make your own Uptown Funk AI video
- Pick a lead: a clear, front-facing photo of one person, face not covered by sunglasses or hands.
- Pick up to three backup dancers, one person per photo. Everyone must be an adult who agreed to be in the video.
- Open the Uptown Funk AI video generator, upload the photos, choose 480p or 720p HD and press Generate.
- Download the silent 15-second MP4, then add the Uptown Funk sound inside TikTok, Reels or Shorts and turn on the AI label.

What to keep in mind
- Do not use photos of real CEOs, celebrities, strangers or children. Putting real people's faces in a video without their consent breaks most platforms' rules; your own people are safer and funnier.
- The song belongs to its rights holders. Our videos are silent, and the platforms' own music libraries are the place to add it.
- AI faces can drift during fast cuts. Bright, sharp, front-facing photos give the closest match.
