How Uptown Funk AI Video (uptownfunkaivideo.com) handles your data and photos.

Last updated: 2026-10-18

Information we collect

  • Photos you upload โ€” the photo is stored only to generate the video you request and is sent to SeeAPI (seeapi.com), our video provider, for that request only. Photos are set to expire 24 hours after upload. Automatic cleanup can be later than 24 hours. We do not promise the file is physically deleted within 24 hours. A finished video, once created, stays available for you to download and is not removed by photo cleanup. We do not sell photos or use them to train models. Email us to delete a photo or video sooner.
  • Account data โ€” email address and name if you create an account.
  • Payment data โ€” handled by PayPal; we never store full card numbers or your PayPal password.
  • Usage statistics โ€” on unless you turn them off. Described below. This is not anonymous once it is tied to your account.

How we use data

To generate your videos, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your photos to train models.

Usage statistics

This is separate from the cookies that keep you signed in. Usage statistics are on unless you turn them off at the bottom of each page. Don't allow is on the same row as Allow. You can change that choice at any time. Sign-in, generating a video, and payment work either way. A browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal turns new statistics off. Turning statistics off deletes what was collected for this browser, as described below.

While statistics are on, this site stores two cookies on this browser:

  • oz_anon lasts up to 400 days. Visiting again can refresh that. Your browser may delete it sooner. 400 days is the browser cap, not a legal permission.
  • oz_sid lasts 30 minutes.

oz_anon and oz_sid are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. On HTTPS they are also marked Secure. A third cookie, oz_measure, remembers Allow or Don't allow for up to 400 days. It stores only one of those two words, not an identifier, and it is not HttpOnly, so this browser can record Don't allow immediately. A fourth cookie, oz_erase, stores only a retry flag and no identifier. It is set while a deletion still has to be confirmed, and it is removed after that deletion is confirmed.

While this is on, we keep page views, photo selection, completed uploads, the task linked to an upload, download starts, and completed registration. After you sign in, a page view can be tied to your account. That record can include your account id, a task id, and an order id. It is not anonymous. We do not put your email, payment details, photo, or file name in it.

We delete an event 90 days after we received it. We delete an identity link on the same 90-day limit, including a link that is still open. An open link is counted from when that link was created. A closed link is counted from when it was closed. Signing out closes that browser's link to your account. A later sign-in can create a new link only while statistics stay on. Cleanup runs once a day. A record is not deleted at the exact moment 90 days ends. After it passes 90 days, the next daily cleanup that succeeds usually deletes it. That is about one extra day of scheduling delay. If a cleanup fails, the record stays until a later cleanup succeeds, so it can remain longer. Those 90 days cover usage events and account links only. They do not cover the small record kept after Don't allow, and they do not mean every anonymous record is deleted at 90 days. This cleanup does not delete your account, orders, photos, or videos.

While statistics stay on, a statistics request that is not blocked keeps the same oz_anon and oz_sid and starts their time limits again. oz_anon is still up to 400 days. oz_sid is still 30 minutes from that request. A request that arrives after you chose Don't allow does not write those old ids back, and it does not clear a newer pair from a later Allow.

Choosing Don't allow stops new statistics on this browser immediately, even if the network request fails. After the deletion succeeds, we delete the usage events stored for that browser id and the link between that id and an account, and we expire oz_anon and oz_sid. That does not empty every statistics record at once. We still keep one small record: only that anonymous id and the time you chose Don't allow. It has no page visits and no account. It stops an older request that arrives late from writing the deleted events or link back under that id. We count 400 days for this record. It is not removed at the exact moment those 400 days end. After 400 days it no longer blocks new records. The next daily cleanup that succeeds removes it. Scheduling, or a cleanup that fails, can make that later. If you choose Allow again, you get a new oz_anon and a new oz_sid. We do not reopen the id that was just deleted. If the deletion does not succeed, the page says it is not confirmed and you can try again. The events and the account link stay until a later try deletes them. A failed try does not leave statistics on, and it does not count as a completed deletion. Don't allow does not delete your account, orders, photos, or videos. A browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal is treated as Don't allow for any new statistics. That signal alone does not delete rows already stored. Turning statistics off does not sign you out.

We do not say that this meets the law of any particular place. The choice is at the bottom of each page. You can also email support@uptownfunkaivideo.com with the subject "Privacy".

Usage statistics

We count which pages and steps people use, so we can fix what is confusing. Sign-in, video generation, and payment work either way.
